About this course
Introducing our teen’s program! Introduction to Fashion Design for Teens is an after-school program for Junior/High school students. Ideal for those who are interested in experiencing what involves in studying fashion design.
This program will be perfect for beginners who wants to learn how to do fashion sketch, pattern making, and sewing.

Learning Outcome
- Drawing clothes on fashion template figure: understanding drawing drapes, pleats, gathers, layering
- Coloring the sketch using a colored pencil and marker: understanding coloring techniques: color pencil and marker
- Introduction to pattern making: Understanding women’s body shape and how it affects the pattern for clothes
- Dolman Tops pattern development: Adjusting pattern block to the preferences
- Sewing preparation: Checking the patterns and cutting on the fabric
- Introduction to sewing machine: Sewing exercises
- Sewing tops: start assembling the tops with clean finish sewing techniques
Teachers
Emily Wijaya is a passionate individual both in fashion and in teaching. She has more than ten years of experience in teaching fashion design and her expertise is in illustration, draping, garment production, and design process. Her specialization is in customized evening wear, bridal wear, and uniform.
Ms. Emily is a half-Japanese half-Indonesian, raised in Jakarta, and lived in California throughout her academic year. She graduated from Otis College of Art and Design and had experiences with well-known brands early in her career.

MKLAV [read: em-klaf] is a place for everyone passionate about fashion or a newcomer who wants to know about fashion.
