Trench Coat

Trench coat, adapted from waterproof coats for military officers during World War I that was created by Charles Macintosh and Thomas Hancock in early 1820s. It was made from rubberized cotton and functioned as rain-repellent garment for outdoor activities. As technology in textile evolved, Aquascutum and Burberry invented and produced more breathable trench coat.
